REVIEW: ZANE LOWE @ IBIZA ROCKS BAR

Located on the same shoreline footprint as what was once known as Bar M, Ibiza Rocks Bar in San Antonio is one of the best places on the island to see A-list DJs and performers up close without having to pay for the privilege.
The intimate promenade positioned Bar is, without doubt, the little brother of the Ibiza Rocks family; it's not as large as the Hotel, and doesn't boast the same kind of historical girth as Pikes. But size, as they say in all the most optimistic swinging circes, isn't everything, and this season Ibiza Rocks Bar is once again punching well above its weight.
Last Friday, for instance, Mixmag's Balearic team were lolling around on the top deck of the Bar, casually sipping mojitos and discussing important business matters, when Zane Lowe unexpectedly appeared behind the decks after finishing his set up the road at W.A.R. The large crowd below us bloated, and we were suddenly joined on the high balcony by Shy FX, and Will and Saul from Chase and Status.
Lowe played on for 45 minutes and then promptly disappeared. But this is the way things appear to roll down at the Bar – big DJs and artists pass through all the time and most of them like to play the punters a few tunes while they're drinking.
