The UK bass veteran steps out in celebration of a new LP

"Roska, Roska, Roska" is an audio tag that's synonymous with the UK underground.

For the best part of a decade, it's been written in to the tracks and mixes of a producer who's pioneered a very London style of house music.

Roska emerged in the late 00s with cuts like 'Feeline' and 'Squark', which came loaded with undeniable rhythm and system-testing whomp and would help define a genre: UK funky.

His early 12"s were released on his own Roska Kicks & Snares imprint and he'd go on to collaborate with fellow low-end trailblazers Untold and Pinch as well as notch records on Numbers, Rinse and longtime home Tectonic. If you don't know him from 'Love 2 Nite' (featuring Jamie George), the seductive, vocal house banger that had the floors of both Plastic People and DC:10 melting, then you really ain't been listening right.

Those with a keen ear to the fluctuations of sub genres will know that UK funky has slowly but surely morphed into the bass-house that's loved and played by everyone who likes their rollers to come with a bit of wobbly attitude and Roska's been there every step of the way.

His label has continued to release pressure-laden joints from peers like Champion, Tony Tokyo, Nudist and Alex Parkin and he's never stopped his highly productive release rate: go check the recent 'Hyperion' and 'This May Take A While' EPs to hear where Roska, and the UK, is at right now.

Roska steps up to mix In Session off the release of 'Refresh', his third album and first full length since the incendiary 'Roska Presents' volumes one and two that landed via Rinse in 2010 and 2012 respectively. Given the way the scene and his sound has changed since then, it feels right that 'Refresh' is landing now.

His mix is full of the upfront selections and seriously tight blends that he's known for and is all put together with the flair that's made him a staple in main rooms and on festival stages alike. It's all pitched at around 130bpm so get ready for the ride.
