Hi Dancing,
I was in the same predicament when i heard WITC was cancelled. see the forum topic below for suggestions - so far we've got 02 wireless, embarc boat party and if you like your dance music a little more cheesy, you could try dance Island in Cambridgeshire.
in London: Olmeto at The End-Layo & Bushwacka, Unit 7-A Guy Called Gerald and East Village also looks pretty good.
guess it depends where you are in the country?
I've just taken myself out of my depression about the cancelled WITC - loads of other stuff going on!
If you're not London based there's a lot of other stuff floating around. The Midlands is always worth checking out in my opinion. There are big regular nights around there, such as Shuffle at Plug in Sheffield (see the 'Tick 'em off' section in this months issue).
Nottingham has a lot as well with the likes of Product, Spectrum, Detonate, Firefly, Highness Sound System and Futureproof providing everything from dub step and sould to house, techno and DnB. There is usually at least one of them on each weekend.
Actually I think Firefly have a night on this Saturday. Their last one was their 8th birthday with Alter Ego (live), Fergie, Ben Sims, Thrash Jelly and couple others. They hold it at the Marcus Garvey centre in Nottingham which is basically a big community hall which is excellent for their nights and has a great atmosphere about it. They pull out all the stops, been to a few before and always had a wiked time.
London wise I think I may be heading to Fabric on Friday and search something out for the Saturday. Scratch Perverts, Goldie, Mary Anne Hobbs will all be there on Friday for Fabric live.
I could rabbit on for hours but I'll cut myself off now! Let us know where abouts you and perhaps could help out bit better... but to be honest this weekend is looking pretty sharp!
