Straight outta Mosul: DJ Foundation

Submitted by Duncan JA Dick on 21 April 2009 - 1:51pm.

Readers of our 'frontiers' issue from last year may remember a feature on Mosul based Iraqi DJ and producer DJ Foundation. Here's a video for his track 'Hot Girls, Hot Guys'- the album 'Paradise' is out in May.

Straight outta Mosul:DJ Foundation

Wow......radical. DJ Foundation is phenomenal. But then I like a heavy beat and he delivers. Of course my hat goes off to Mixmag for showcasing new and/or hidden acts......being on the cutting edge.

Mutt's Nutts

Foundation is the dog's proverbials - bought the album at Rough Trade and there's even better stuff than these on it. Looking forward to hearing 'Hot Girls' all over Ibiza when I get there next month.

Love this

Absolutely love this track, can't get it out of my head. It's sort of like a big summer, New Order-y anthem only with a loosely political message. I wonder if the recession will be the subject of any more great tunes? I can only think of this and the Caspa remix of TC's 'Where's My Money?' so far, but I bet there'll be more.
