There were lumps in throats and tears before bedtime last week when the Mixmag office heard The Opera House were giving long running superclub Slinky the boot. Apparently the new owners don't like having one of the UKs finest trance nights in their venue and so the Haloween Ball will be the last event at the Bournemouth club. Not taking 'no' for an answer, a group of dedicated Slinky kids have begun a petition to keep the night running. "All we want is two nights a month" organiser Maria Mack told us.
