A question for you CD DJs
Hi,
As many tracks are released as downloads only and not many CD singles any more, how to you DJs who are CD only DJs play the stuff? If there is a track/mix that you want to play in your set, do you download it and burn it to disc? Do record companies/promoters give you a CDR? How do these things work these days?
Thanks for your replies.

Hey im relatively new to this to but i download songs and convert them all to Mp3(cbr) and just burn the trax i need to an mp3 disc or just use the actual albums or singles if i have them but burning them properly is crucial and im not the best with advice for that but im sure someone on this site will defo know wat advice to give ya regarding that
hey magic one,
our clubs editor craig who djs out says:
"like defendum says the best thing to do is burn the mp3s or wavs onto CD to play out.
it's up to yourself how many tracks you burn onto each CD. some djs will burn one, others up to 8 maybe.
i generally tend to put 3/4 tracks on a CD.
regarding record companies and music pr companies, some send out cds, some send out link and some even send out vinyls still, it all depends on each individual company.
hope this helps."
I just download them from the online stores (Beatport, DJ Download, Juno etc) and then burn them to disc to play out with. I think thats what most DJs do these days too.
Hope this helps
