i'm boycotting oakenfold at the moment!!

Why would you boycott oakenfold,he has done more for the dance music scene than anyone else.show some respect...........

doesn't matter what he has done its what he is doing now that counts and he has been terrible for years. He sounds dated and average now

he did a compilation of all the old classics recently which was amazing ...anyone heard it?

got it their last week its sheer quality.great to hear the old classics again.have you heard the resident two years at cream.its the bible of dance music.

havent heard much about his residency at Rain in Las Vegas? anyone been? any good?

there you go, a comp of classics once again showing he has no grasp on modern dance music and is living on past glory

without past glory the dance music scene wouldnt be where it is today.wheres the problem is releasing a cd with classic anthems of days gone by.

nothing wrong with it but thats all he seems to do. classic mix cds are lazy and contain the same old tunes you have heard in a hundred other mixes

Paul Oakenfold is one of the dj's that has made dance music popular in America, so I have to thank him.
I love dance music (trance/house/techno), I would just die if I had to listen to commercial hip-hop or pop.
Anyways, I got to see Paul @ RAIN in the Palms Casino.
Amazing...I've seen a lot of dj's.
Tiesto was one of my favorites because the music is great & the show. Tiesto gives a great show BUT I think Paul just won for best show.

I've been to club RAIN before it was Perfecto nights, it was okay; like the venue is really nice.
Now that its Perfecto, its like you are on another planet.
When you are in line, you see all the bouncer & staff wearing their suit with a "P" logo for perfecto. At the front of the line you get to see & talk to this robot, its a real woman dressed as a robot & she has this robotic voice.
Once you are walking in, you get to look at your reflection on metallic wall and its a bit weird with the red lighting.
When inside, its like where am I...that was exactly what I thought.
There are gogo dancer on the platform wearing metallic little outfits, guys dressed like robots (sort of like in the movie Allien), acrobats hanging from the ceiling.
One the show gets started at about 12am or so they play their Club Anthem song "The Club" & the gogo's have a routine they do. The center of the ceiling has this sort of chandelier that comes down & throws a flame of fire.
One the show really gets started there are guys wearing body sucks that hang from this ceiling piece then they get on the curtains & get on teh rail then start crawling on it...right next to you.
I would call the Perfecto club a Tiesto experience w/ Cirque De Soilei.
If you guys ever come to the States pls to go Vegas, go to club Perfecto.

Ive only seen Oakey DJ once about 14 or 15 years ago at Cream,

He didnt seem to interested in proceedings.
