Hooky DJing

Hi guys. Bit of debate going around about Hooky's DJing and whether he is playing a Mixmag CD instead and simply tweaking knobs.

Wondered if any of you could clear it up.

Do you recognise the music in the clip?

Hooky

I can answer the main part of this question. I interviewed Hooky on the phone for Mixmag several summers back and he professed to being a fan of Mixmag cover-mounts, and admitted that he uses them when he - ahem - "plays out". The one I'd just finished working on from Armand Van Helden started with a wonderfully memorable monologue from Armand that went along the lines of: "AVH....AVH... this is a Mixmag production!" And if you listen and look at the start of the clip below, you'll clearly hear the same Mixmag intro announcement.

Judging by the sweat on every clip, it looks like Hooky has a blast behind the decks. Whether he plays whole gigs from the same CD remains to be seen... he's an amazing bass player, mind

Oh God No

Eric you sex stain.. YOUR ON THIS BOARD TO? Is there anywhere you don't taint? :P

LEAVE HOOK ALONE !!!! I got that Cd with the AVH intro. I'll admit it's a bit silly for anyone other than Armand Van Helden to play it, but, fuck it who cares. I think someone in music as long as he's been and with the achievements under his belts knows more than we do.

He's an old fat coke fiend

He's an old fat coke fiend who seems to be trying his hardest to shit all over his previous endevours and well deserved credibility.

RIP Hooky.
