Grooverider has two weeks to appeal his prison sentence

RiderDrum 'n' Bass DJ, Grooverider has under a fortnight to appeal the four year prison sentence he was given on Tuesday.

The Radio 1 presenter, real name Raymod Bingham, was arrested at Dubai Airport in November for possession of a spliff's worth of cannabis.

Grooverider has hired Mohammad Al-Reda - the lawyer who successfully managed to get R'n'B singer, Dallas Austin, pardoned for drug charges in Dubai in 2006.

Grooverider's future now lies in Al-Reda hands. More news here, as we hear it...

Hard to understand...

...how government's have laws which jail someone for four years for having a joint on them. I understand that we should respect the laws of countries we visit, but surely there are worst 'crimes'.

All over the world there are people affected by draconian laws whose cases obviously don't get coverage as they're not a famous DJ.

Fingers crossed for Grooverider - I know he's an inspiration and great role model for a lot of youngsters in particular.
