best city for clubbing in the UK?
Most people would say London but there are plenty of other challengers out there. I'm going up to be putting Glasgow's claims to the test in a few weeks time and Manchester had a good year last year. There also seems to be something a bit special about Leeds. But what's the best clubbing city in the UK?
D

Cardiff
Dont know about the best clubbing City in the UK, but Cardiff has certainly got some quality nights going on, some of them for many years (Holodeck is 10 years old next month.
Every clubber is going to have a different opinion, so its very much a personal thing and people change there minds all the time, I've had great nights in Cardif, Bristol, London and up north.
I've probably not answered your question very well, but thats my 10 penneth! ;)
Aberdeen
Why not test out Aberdeen? Like Chukla said above about Cardiff, its maybe not the best clubbing city in the UK but its cetrainly improving. Snafu is a fantastic venue that constantly has big names that sell out way in advance... check it out!
Liverpool
Been at uni in liverpool for three years now, chibuku and circus put on some god nights, and theres cream once a quarter with all the big hitters.
Bristol/Cardiff
Both have awesome house seens....Bristol is dirty/filthy and Cadiff is just immense!
Aberdeen
I'd love to rate Aberdeen for clubbing, the named DJ's coming up are by far better than ever, just the limited tickets for the better venues like Snafu and the caliber of clubber you get out there aren't worth luring people there!
Although I am yet to find Techno nights like done in the Deen!
Sheffield or Brummie
Sheffield has got Gatecrasher One (again) and The Plug, both of which get great nights and quality DJs.
Also Birmingham has some of the best clubs in UK, getting the best DJs and has what a lot of England hasdn't - big venues for hard dance, D'n'B and Electro within 10 mins walk of each other.
I had a good time when I
I had a good time when I visited Leeds before! good vibe and party at Wire. of course Optimo was in the house!
big up snafu
we reveiwed Snafu a few months ago in the big 3 - top club and great people. The promoters seem to have a clear mission to bring top dance music names to Aberdeen which is actually really inspiring.
ukedge - compact cities
I hear what you're saying about Brum and the ease of getting around. That's the great thing about Glasgow as well - a compact city centre where you can find everything you need. London usually involves two trains and a bus just to get from good bar to club. Or a taxi on Mixmag expenses when I can get away with it!
Glasgow
Glasgow is wicked. I lived up there for a year and a half, and even though there are only 3 decent big clubs, there's lots of bars and smaller venues that have amazing nights (barbloc, brunswick basement etc). I live in London now, and of course it's fantastic down here too, but there's a much better atmosphere in Glasgow - better banter in the smoking area! Also everythings in walking distance of everything else, and a taxi will cost maximum a fiver!
Brighton
What better place than to club by the sea??? Seriously. Great clubs, bars, unusual people and places, and at the end of the night / morning, ending up on the beach to watch the sun rise. Now that's special!
