BBC hails 2009 the year of the synth
The BBC’s Sound of 2009 Longlist has been announced and gone are the guitar bands and singer songwriters that have long been the staple British diet.
Instead the list is dominated by electro-pop songstresses such as Little Boots and La Roux and synth heroes, Empire of the Sun.
A recent article in The Guardian suggests that A&R’s have been told not to sign guitar acts but electronic ones instead – could this be the future of pop music?
