Basement Jaxx give Yoko Ono a chance

Basement JaxxMore news on the Basement Jaxx album front: Felix Buxton has been telling us about their collaboration with former Beatles beau Yoko Ono. The recording took place when the duo flew to New York recently.

"She-s great, she-s 76, very engaged and vibrant," he revealed. "We were told she couldn-t sing in tune but she was fine!"

The track - as-yet untitled - will feature on the band's forthcoming "psychedelic" double album. "I was reading about her and she seemed to be on the same tip," says Felix. "We met her manager in New York and he told us she hadn-t known of any new music since 1965 so he decided to give her some education. And the first thing she stopped at was when she got to ‘Romeo-. And she loved our 'Rooty' album! In her song ‘Kiss Kiss Me Now- there-s a line about ‘just one kiss-. So I really got where she was coming from."
