AVOIDING Oakenfold and Crystal Castles at Gatecrasher Summer Soundsystem!!
I read interviews with Paul Oakenfold and Crystal Castles in Mixmag recently and thought they both sounded like such dicks. Paul Oakenfold is an arrogant pig who's sold out for a shot at what he thinks is the big time in Hollywood, and Crystal Castles are just petulant kids who have nothing but disdain for the club scene which is supporting them
I'm only going to the saturday night at gatecrasher now cos i want to avoid them both on the sunday night.

Haha, I'm with you! Oakenfold is an arrogant pig indeed. Altohugh, I can't help but like his tunes and what have ya. I went to see him last September in The Tunnel (Glasgow) and at the end of his set he just buggered off without saying bye or thank you! State of him lol. I'll go read the section about Crystal Castles now.. haha. Wish I was going to Gatecrasher though.. However I'm gonna try scrape up enough cash for Rockness :)

Not inspired by the current electronic music scene? One of the most uninspiring aspects of the current scene at the moment is the utter tosh he churns out. How far up yourself is it possible to be? Artist Oakenfold album anyone? No, I thought not.
Playing with an orchestra? He's just Rick Wakeman in disguise.

yeah to be fair i'm not too bothered about the crystal castles cos they'll pass out of fashion pretty quickly but oakenfold is a bit of a letdown due to his legendary status!

I went to see Crystal Castles last night and they were fucking awesome. Dont let an arsey interview style get in the way of you enjoying great fresh music - their show, like their album are fucking brilliant. Thats why we made them our number one album.
