It's the end of an era tonight when Erol Alkan and his Trash Club buddies call it a day on their 10th anniversary.
Trash has become London's Monday night institution over the last 10 years and as well as Erol residing every monday night they've had guests such as Soulwax, The Juan Maclean, Felix Da Housecat, Jacques Lu Cont and Hot Chip popping in to play. Super-geek Moby has cited his involvement in the British rave scene as the reason for his naked cranium. Before he became a global superstar he was playing three gigs a night during the rave days of the early 90s and claims the stress of finding all the gigs made his hair fall out.
"It was a really fun period but incredibly stressful," he's told The Independent. "I'd be driving around trying to find these places. I'd finally get back to London at seven in the morning completely wiped out."
It must have been a hair-raising experience for him...
