TiestoThe trance superstar will be spending every Monday night throughout the summer, starting July 7, delivering sets to the masses at the biggest club in the world.

Ibiza Rocks Hotel now taking bookings

I RocksIbiza Rocks' new hotel opens for business in San Antonio on May 31st.

You can now book a room at what is sure to be the most talked about hotel this season.

The new venue has The Enemy playing its opening party - but it's not all bad news. Prices for a 3 night stay at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel including gig ticket are only £72.00 at www.ibizarockshotel.com

You can also book Ibiza Rocks Travel Insurance with gig cancellation cover. Now that is rock 'n' roll.

Radio 1 Ibiza Weekend 2008 dates leaked

R1 IbizaJudge Jules let slip on his Friday night show when the exact dates are for this year's Radio 1 Ibiza Weekend.

Book your holidays for Friday 1st - Sunday 3rd August. Previous years have seen Radio 1 take over Cafe Mambo on San An's Sunset Strip as well as holding special Essential Mix's at Cream Ibiza - a winning formula we don't expect them to change.

If they do of course, you'll read it here first.

Ibiza Calls Time on After-Hours Raves

IbizaafterpartiesFrom next season ‘after-hours’ clubs in Ibiza will be banned. Authorities say clubs which operate between 6am and 10am cause a disturbance for residents and less nocturnal holidaymakers.

The resort town of San Antonio banned after-hours clubs some time ago and now Sant Josep, home to clubs such as Space, DC10 and Bora Bora, is to do the same. Vicent Ferrer, head of tourism in Sant Josep, said: "In an urban space, an after-hours club is a danger and we have to stop it."

Local authorities in Ibiza Town also want to close the clubs between 6am and 6pm, putting an end to afternoon raves.

Paquita Ribas, a local councillor, said: "We know the clubs are attractive internationally but we want tourists and residents to live in a better way."

Pepe Rosello, owner of Space, said: "The new rules mean some of our morning sessions will have to be moved to afternoons. But it also opens the door to more illegal parties in houses and on the beaches.”

For many it marks the end of an era for the island which invented chill-out music and which was famous for its hedonistic, anything-goes attitude.

GARETH WYN's FINAL CREAM IBIZA BLOG

Cream Blog 5Another Ibiza thunders by. It goes far too quickly for my liking. Friday 20th September was my final show of the Balearic season, and the closing party for Cream in Ibiza. I was in the main room with Ferry Corsten and Paul van Dyk, with Anthony Probyn, Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell on the Mixmag Terrace.
As always, the main room was rammed from midnight, the punters literally came bouncing in. I love that club, it’s probably the best main room in the world. The sound system in there is amazing to play on, you can keep pushing it up and up, and it still wants more.
Ferry took over from me, and I received a massive cheer from the Cream faithful. Job done, and now time to party. Paul van Dyk was fantastic as well, and played by new track ‘La Galeria’. This record is really gaining momentum now, watch this space.
I’ve banged on about the Mixmag Terrace all summer, but it really has been that good. I’ve been to all Ibiza’s clubs many times, and take it from me - that terrace is the best house room in Ibiza. It’s a feel good vibe on there, everyone is smiling their face off all night, and the Swedish house mafia have taken it to another level in 2007. They rocked the place, a great finale to an unbelievable season. Roll on 2008.

CREAM IBIZA BLOG FROM GARETH WYN

CREAM IBIZA BLOG FROM GARETH WYNMy fifth show of the Cream Ibiza season was last Thursday 6th September.

I love September in Ibiza. This island is slightly less busy, with a different type of party goer out there. You can get a decent gauge of how busy Cream will be by people out on the street, and the streets were heaving. The new walkway from Kanya, right across the coast into San An has revolutionised that part of the town, much for the better. Loads more people come to enjoy the famous Iberian sunset.

The Italian legend Pavarotti dies Thursday morning, and as a fitting tribute Mambo and Café Del Mar played his famous track Nessun Dorma as the sun was going down. Very special.

I arrived at Amnesia just before my 1-3am set. I was in the main room with Paul van Dyk and Edgar V from America, with Steve Angello and Chris Lake on the Mixmag Terrace. Suffice to say the club was rammed again, as it has been all year. This has been a massive season for Cream again, and it’s been a real pleasure to have been part of it. I handed over to Edgar just before 3am, to another great ovation from the Cream faithful. Job done. Now it was time to party. Over on the Mixmag Terrace, Steve Angello was taking the joint apart. I was very impressed with Chris Lake as well, first time I’ve seen him play and he was really good. Again the Mixmag terrace surpassed itself, like I say every week – the best house room in Ibiza.

I’m back over to La Isla Blanca for my final show next Thursday 20th September, for the Cream closing party. PVD, Ferry Corsten with Axwell and Ingrosso on the Mixmag Terrace. Bring it on .

See ya!

Gareth

Cream Ibiza - Gareth Wyn's blog...

blog2 Last Thursday couldn’t have come round quick enough for me, my first set in Ibiza this summer for Cream. My June date was cancelled due to Amnesia’s licensing problems. After spinning at the Kanya pre-party, I arrived at the club for 11.30 and was immediately reminded what an amazing place it is. The sound system in there kicks butt and I loved being back in the main room booth.

This is my fourth season now as resident for Cream and the shows get better and better. The place was absolutely heaving all night, one of the busiest I’ve ever seen the club. Ferry Corsten took over from me and the room was going right off - job done!

My current sound includes tough, pumping house, right through to trance, which has a tech, hard feel to it. There’s that much good new music around at the moment, I’m spoilt for choice. My new track with The Viceroy ‘La Galeria’ went down a storm as well, the perfect place to road test new music!

The Mixmag Terrace was unbelievable. I’ve seen this room develop enormously over the last few years, with the line ups getting increasingly stronger. Last Thursday things were taken to a whole new level with Tocadisco and Sebastian Ingrosso were on fire. Improved sound and five green lasers - the place went off like the proverbial rocket. This must be the best house room in Ibiza now? I had a ball in the box with Sebastian, that boy can party, swigging neat Vodka from the bottle all night.

I’m back next week for two shows, Cream’s 11th Ibiza Birthday on Thursday then the massive Cream Radio 1 party on Saturday with Sasha, so expect a bumper edition of my Mixmag blog then.

See ya!

Cream Ibiza - Gareth Wyn's blog...

creamibizablog Now Mixmag are running our own terrace at Cream Ibiza, we asked Cream Ibiza resident Gareth Wyn to fill us in on the what’s going down on the island…

"I hot-footed it out to Ibiza from Gatwick last Wednesday night, with a CD wallet rammed full of hot new tunage, geared up for my first Cream show of the summer. Thursday I spent poolside doing my stretches in preparation and working on a base tan, only to get the call around 4pm saying the second Cream party of the season was off. Gutted!
There are still problems with the Amnesia licence that weren’t resolved in time, and although the party was promoted all over the island, it was pulled at the last minute. Nothing Cream can do but disappointing as I was ready and waiting to take the roof off Amnesia's main room.
That aside, I still had two days on the island, my first trip of 2007, and there have been some interesting developments. There’s a fantastic new motorway from San Antonio to Ibiza Town, and on to the airport. There’s also now a walk way from Kanya Beach right around to the main San Antonio port, linking up with the existing path that runs out the front of Bar M and beyond.
Friday I was back at Cafe Mambo for the sunset and Pete Tong's radio show. The new terrace means there’s much more outdoor seating available, which is all good.
I’m back to Ibiza on 26th July so expect instalment two of my Mixmag blog then, see ya!"

Ibiza 2006 kicks off!

ibiza It's official! The summer party season is now upon us and things are underway on the white island with Space and DC10's opening parties taking place last Sunday and Monday respectively.

Our contact on the island tells us that the Circoloco party at DC10, our Ibizan club of the year 2005 and office favourite, was the place to be with techno upstart Mathew Jonson playing live to the terrace on top of a scaffolding tower and dangling from a harness!

New weekly resident Luciano and the ever present Loco Dice both rocked the terrace with tough and edgy balearic beats and even though the terrace bar had been moved to create more room, the place was still rammed.

With Pacha, Amnesia and Privelege still to throw open their doors, what are you guys most looking forward to this season?

Is it Cream, Judgement Sundays, Cocoon or Subliminal?
